Meadowlark Ridge Observatory - A Journey Into the Cosmos

NGC 6914 is the blue reflection nebula embedded within the surrounding (red) emission nebula in the Cygnus region.   This area hosts an immense number of young stars most of which are obscured by the thick dust - the dark areas in this image.

NGC 6914 is located approximately 6,000 light years from earth.
