On March 11, 2013 I had the pleasure of participating in the "astronomer night" program at the Mt. Lemmon Sky Center near Tucson, AZ. This program allows amateurs to take images using their
Schulman 32 inch RC telescope. Renowned astrophotographer Adam Block hosts the program and served as the both the host and resident astronomer. I got to choose the target and picked NGC 3344, a
beautiful face on spiral galaxy. Adam collected all the raw data from the night's imaging session and sent it to me after I had returned home. I processed the data and this image is the
result.
I would strongly recommend a trip to Mt. Lemmon for anyone with an interest in star gazing. The Sky Center offers several programs available to the general public. Adam is a wonderful host and
has a deep passion for his work.
