IC 1848


An emission nebula in Cassiopeia the Soul Nebula is an extremely active area of star formation. The wispy star formation regions, called W5, are theorized to be areas of triggered star formation. The area is massive and spans an area equivalent to four full moons. It also features huge evacuated bubbles formed by the winds of young massive stars.
